Robert Fyda joined Northern Nevada Public Health in 2023 where he brings his expertise in environmental health along with a passion for water / wastewater and STEM education issues. Robert has been Nevadan for over 30 years and has been in the public health sector for over a decade.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno and a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from Columbia University. Robert is currently working on his doctorate in public health at Johns Hopkins University as a Bloomberg Fellow.

Robert lives in Southwest Reno with his wife and their daughter. They spend their free time appreciating Washoe County’s natural beauty hiking various trails in the region.
