Corridor Management Plans

A Corridor Management Plan is a grassroots-driven document that provides a byway group with a roadmap for action.  It addresses issues as diverse as tourism development, roadway safety, highway signs, or the preservation of historic or natural features. Both the Mt. Rose Scenic Corridor Management Plan and the Washoe Valley Scenic Corridor Management Plan were adopted by the Washoe County Board of County Commissioners on January 12th, 2016.

Mount Rose Scenic Byway Corridor Management Plan

The SR 431 Mount Rose Scenic Byway traverses 22 miles connecting Reno and North Lake Tahoe through the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest and over the summit of Mount Rose.  The Corridor Management Plan for SR431 will leverage recreational opportunities, preserve the natural environment while developing solutions for safe, multi-modal roadways to provide opportunities for people to experience the scenic beauty.  The CMP will identify future projects, marketing strategies and funding opportunities that align with the vision of the community.
