COVID-19 Round 1
INTENT TO APPLY LETTER DUE JULY 6, 2020
GRANT PROPOSAL DEADLINE JULY 13, 2020

Washoe County will be considering projects for the Nevada State Community Development Block Grant program COVID-19 funding. Washoe County is eligible to apply for projects located in unincorporated areas of the county. The public is invited to participate by providing ideas, comments and suggestions concerning potential projects.  Public meetings will be held on:

June 30, 2020
Washoe County Caucus Room, Bldg. A
1001 E. Ninth Street, at 1:00 PM

No members of the public will be allowed in the meeting room due to concerns for public safety resulting from the COVID-19 emergency and pursuant to the Governor of Nevada’s Declaration of Emergency Directive 006 Section 1 which suspends the requirement in NRS 241.023(1)(b) that there be a physical location designated for meetings of public bodies where members of the public are permitted to attend and participate. This meeting will be held by teleconference only.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has made $2,049,574 available for grants for activities to support infectious disease response, and assistance to businesses including special economic development assistance.  These funds are only available for response efforts related to the COVID-19 emergency.  Grants are available on a competitive basis to Nevada’s 26 non-entitlement cities and counties. Washoe County is eligible to apply for projects located in unincorporated areas of the county.
