Preparedness Information
One of the benefits of becoming a member of the Washoe County Medical Reserve Corps is the preparedness information and training you will receive. Through online courses, classroom training and live exercises, you will learn about the:
- National Response Plan;
- Incident Command System and National Incident Management System;
- The use of Points of Dispensing and Alternate Care Sites; and
- How emergencies are managed and mitigated.
Topics covered will include natural disasters that are most likely to occur in our area; communicable diseases that could potentially cause a widespread pandemic; and various man-caused disasters and emergencies.
You will learn how to prepare for and respond to these situations in order to help protect yourself, your family and your neighbors. Building a well trained and informed populace is vital for the safety of our entire community.
