Property Leasing
The County's Real Property Program was established to evaluate and catalog real property assets held by Washoe County. The Property Program function is to assist with deed research, preliminary title research, and legal research for disposition and acquisition of real property assets as directed.
This division secures new and renewal leases endeavoring to achieve terms and conditions that are in the best interests of the County while being competitively priced at or below market rates. Leased properties and corresponding expiration dates are monitored to coincide with the County Master Plan and Capital Improvement Plan. Annually, all expenditures and revenues are audited to insure conformance with lease terms. The budget is developed annually for all leasing expenses including relocation, connectivity, property taxes, insurance, utility and janitorial expenses. Contracts for use of County facilities by non-profit or partnering agencies are also administered.
