Washoe 311 Update

Since its inception in 2017, Washoe311’s service requests have multiplied nearly seven-fold, answering nearly 47,000 inquiries in 2020. The COVID pandemic has, of course, accounted for a great many inquiries in 2020, as Washoe311 has been the front line for information on Washoe County testing and vaccination clinics.  

Other top questions of 2020: 

  • Building permits and inspections: How can I track and pay for permits? How can I schedule a permit or inspectionwhen many county employees are working from home? How much notice do I receive before an inspection? 
  • Moratorium on evictions: Where can a renter get legal assistance for pending evictions? Can a landlord evict tenants, at this time, and what are the steps they need to take? 

This month, Washoe311 will begin working with Crisis Support Services of Nevada (CSSNV) to continue to provide after-hours call service to residentsCSSNV is headquartered locally and is considered the longest continually operating crisis call center in the country. Whether it is during the standard business day, after hours, or on weekends, Washoe311 strives to answer every call with a live representative and respond to inquiries within 24 hours.
